WORD X WORD FESTIVAL 8/23/10!
-
August 18, 2010
“Coming soon to this Berkshires city: A nine-day antidote to the texting, verbing, and jargoning that threaten to reduce our language to a series of ungainly and perfunctory twitters,” – David Filipov, The Boston Globe.

Next Tuesday night I'll be performing at the Word x Word Fest held in Pittsfield, MA. Headliners include musical acts Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Langhorne Slim, Mike & Ruthy, and spoken word performers Derrick Brown and Rives. They all are among the 60 plus performers who will be in downtown Pittsfield Aug. 21- 29 for the second annual festival, a celebration of words written, spoken, and sung. Pittsfield has become a great town for music in the Berkshires, something the organizers of this festival have clearly tapped into. I hope you can check out the festival and make our set at The Lantern on Tuesday night.
The Details: Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 @ 9:00 PM as part of the Word x Word Festival

EXIT ZERO: The End
-
March 30, 2009
We just played the Muddy Cup in Hudson to a -- let's call it a limited audience. Now we're heading back to Northampton in a thunderstorm.
Check out the tour photo album for some shots of the band offstage, including at the very first game at Citi Field.
EXIT ZERO: Brooklyn

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Perch in Park Slope Saturday night. A special thanks to Justin Matley for lending his percussive genius to a few songs during the set, and to Greg Glassman for jumping into the fray at the drop of a hat with his mad trumpet skillz. Big fun was had by all.
Things were a bit too hectic tonight for any official multimedia. Anyone who snapped a shot at the show should send it in.
Sunday the boys head to the very first baseball game at Citi Field, then north to Hudson for the last gig of the Exit Zero Tour.
(This blog posted from the beautiful basement library/musicorium of Dayna Kurtz & Jeff Pachman, who graciously hosted the touring act tonight.)
EXIT ZERO: Cape May
-
March 28, 2009
Tonight we were the last act on at Lucky Bones, one of the venues for the Cape May Singer Songwriter Conference. Only our second performance as a duo, it went really well. This show was our world premier of Chris' new song "Long Gone Baby," which is sort of a cowboy song. It features James on whatever percussion instrument is available -- here, his accordion case.

Check out more tour photos in the new "Exit Zero Tour 2009" album.
EXIT ZERO: The Playlist
-
March 27, 2009
We've got more than 700 miles to drive, and very limited conversation skills, so we're bringing a lot of good tunes on the Exit Zero Tour. Chris is sporting an iPod (so far he's rocked some Span of Sunshine, Dayna Kurtz, Daniel Hales and Frost Heaves, King Crimson and Springsteen's Nebraska). James is bringing old fashioned CDs. Here's his playlist:
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Show Your Bones
- Ben Folds Five, Whatever And Ever Amen; The unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner
- Weezer, Pinkerton
- Jeff Buckley, Grace
- The Faint, Black-Wave Arcade
- The Might Be Giants, Flood
- The Streets, Everything is Borrowed
- Chicago I, II & III
- Fionna Apple, When the Pawn...
- Phish, Billy Breathless
- Radiohead, Hail to the Thief
- Joy Division, Substance
- The Jam, Setting Sons

Tonight the boys play Cape May. Check back for a recap and photos!
